If you are looking for a female friend or acquaintance you suspect may be married now, that should not stop you from looking her up. You can conduct what is called a 'maiden name search'. Basically, you just try to find your friend based on her last known surname. You can even use the name of her mother if you know it!
You see, with people searches, the information you get often dates back to 20 years ago so you get her previous addresses and phone numbers. Surely you can begin tracking your friend from there! Note too that it is possible to get details about her relations such as her parents, siblings and their contact numbers so you can easily just pick up the phone and call them and ask where your friend is now!

Find Out Who's Bothering You
Technology has completely changed the way we communicate. Via our cell phones, we can call each other anytime, night or day; via email, we can correspond with each other anytime, night or day. Unfortunately, this has also opened us to receive calls and emails from people we do not like or do not even know!
If you feel that you are being 'stalked' or simply bothered by someone sending you anonymous (and highly unwanted) calls or emails, find out who's doing it! A reverse phone search or reverse email address search can reveal to you just who is this person desperate to communicate with you.

What are You Going to Do When You Find Him/Her?
Further to my previous post, I consider it extremely important that you plan what you are actually going to do once you find the person you are looking for. There are countless scenarios for this of course as not everybody is looking for the same relation and the same purpose.
For instance, probably one of the most 'harmless' people searches you can do is look up an old high school chum. However, if he/she was actually someone you had a relationship with, then it gets a bit more complicated as what if that person is already married? Can you really just give him/her a call after all these years?
Looking up your birth parents is also another complicated scenario. What if your birth parents don't want to see you? Are you up to the possible rejection? But then again, you will never know until you try contacting them. In either case, you must be prepared and be aware that it can go 50/50.
A people search is easy to do; it's what to do afterwards that is difficult. So think about it.

People Search Tip #2 - Preparation is Key
Oftentimes, what happens is we hear a song, read the news or see some old photos and we are immediately drawn to find that person whom we have not been in contact with for the LONGEST time. And although finding the right online service provider figures a lot in making your search successful, it would save a lot of time if you sat down for a few minutes and made a 'list of possibilities'.
First, write the full name of the person you are looking for and his or her last known address. Consider that this person may now be married and may have a different last name (if your friend is female). Consider too that this person may have moved so think about the places that your friend may have mentioned that he/she wanted to move to.
Make a list too of any previous email address or phone number that you still have of your friend. Hey, every little bit helps!
Last but not the least, list down what you would do if you indeed find your friend. Many make a search and leave it at that. For me, why bother if you're not going to do anything about it?

What is the 'Story' of your Family?
All families have a story to tell...
Researching our ancestors is a great way to reconnect with the past. It leads us to undertstand the characteristics and values that shaped our grandparents, parents, and the ones shaping us now. In many ways, it really is true that only by understanding the past can we better move on into the future.
Researching your family tree is a great hobby to take up alone or with other members of your family. You will be surprised at how many stories are bound to come out as you do your research!

People Search Tip #1 - Use Reputable Service Providers
People really hardly stay in one place. People get married, change names, get different jobs and move to different places. As such, the accuracy of a People Search is really dependent a lot on the provider you are using.
At the very least, your preferred service provider should offer the following.
- permits Anonymous and Confidential searches
- provides accurate and updated results
- offers People Search results that include Phone #, Address, Age, Birth Date, and others.
- provides a 100% money back guarantee
I know, it takes quite a lot of sleuthing to sort out the good providers from the bad.
So who are the best People Search providers out there? Check out this list.

WHY Do You Want to Conduct a People Search?
Picking up on what I mentioned last week, finding people online is really easier more than ever. So who do you want to find?
Following is a short list of people you may want to ‘touch base’ again.
• birth parents
• former classmates
• lost relatives
• military alumni
• missing people
• old friends
However, before you go and conduct a People Search, you should first ask yourself WHY you want to be in touch with that person again. You should not conduct one for reasons of revenge or to perpetuate a crime for some long ago (perceived?) wrong doing by that person.
Remember that a People Search should result in a ‘happy ending’ for all concerned (i.e., for you and the person you want to find) so do give your reasons for locating someone a long and hard look.
